Aug 2024 – Success for client who needed to get back to work!

Tania – private coaching with Jessica – testimonial

The first tip-off that something was changing was when I started experiencing debilitating insomnia and increased anxiety almost a year ago. It became so bad that I was unable to work and began pulling away from friends and family. I also started developing other symptoms that felt out of the blue and made me even more afraid that I was either losing my mind, was dying, or both! I was desperate for help.

A friend suggested to me that maybe I was going through perimenopause which hadn’t occurred to me, so I searched the web for anything that could help explain what was happening. With all the conflicting, confusing (and negative!) information I found, and no concrete support from my GP, I switched gears and tried to find a support group instead. That’s when I found the CPMS Canadian Perimenopause Menopause Support group on Facebook.

Very quickly I became acquainted with the group’s leader Jessica and I’m not being dramatic when I say that she was a light in my darkness! I could not have survived this time in my life without her. She helped me make sense of my symptoms, taught me where to find help and how to access it, and generally just made me feel heard, seen, understood and more importantly normal. I was not alone in this!

I went from not sleeping at all and not being able to work, to returning to work full-time and feeling more like myself again. She’s given me the necessary tools to navigate this journey (intellectually, physically, mentally and spiritually) and she continues to be a source of support after almost 12 months. I am so happy with her that I’ve decided to take her on for a second round of coaching, she’s that good!

Jessica has become an indispensable part of my care plan. I highly recommend you reach out to her!

Feb 2024 – Testimonial of graduated client!

When I started bleeding heavily in perimenopause, my doctor referred me to a gynecologist who recommended a hysterectomy.  I was feeling tentative about this and reached out to book a call with Jessica.  I’m so glad I did!  She supported me through the preparation for surgery by giving me simple yoga exercises for homework and being an excellent listener.  She pointed out several things that could come up and made sure I had a plan for everything.  She supported me again after the surgery, making sure I wasn’t doing too much too soon, and then we had a graduation session to complete the process.  I had good outcomes from my surgery and working with Jessica just made everything flow more smoothly.  I felt I had someone in my corner and the tips and tricks she shared kept me safe and calm.  I would highly recommend anyone preparing for surgery to work with Jessica!  I no longer have to worry about bleeding at inconvenient times or my iron levels dropping and she even gave me the heads up about some things that might come up in the months after surgery to be on the look out for.

Nov 2023 – Testimonial of graduated client!

When I first contacted Jessica, I was in so much pain that I literally
couldn’t wear pants.  I was desperate for
help and had no idea what to do.  I
thought something was terribly wrong!
Jessica got me onto a care plan, with specific action steps and gentle
Yoga practice to sooth my nerves.  I got
a diagnosis that was scary and sent her messages; I was so discouraged and felt
maybe life as I had known it was over.
She encouraged me to keep my appointment at a women’s health clinic so I
could be examined by a professional who was well versed in women’s health issues.

I’m so grateful that I did that!
The first diagnosis was wrong!
All I needed was some vaginal estrogen treatment, patience and ongoing support
from sessions with Jessica while I let my body heal.  I decided to go on HRT and by the end of 6 months,
I graduated from coaching!  I have my
energy back, I know what to do if I end up in a slump, I can function well at
work and am smiling again.

Without the support of Jessica, I may have stuck with the incorrect diagnosis
and gone back to the doctor many times with no relief!  The hormone world can be overwhelming and
confusing.  I have no regrets about
investing the time and money into the coaching with Jessica and would recommend
anyone struggling could contact her to do the same.

2023 June

I was in major turmoil over peri symptoms that turned me into the evil twin of myself: rage, anxiety, crazy periods that would show up twice monthly then not at all , etc etc- I am sure some of you are nodding in recognition. My problem back then was how those symptoms affected my relationship with the boyfriend. Used to be fiance, but guess what?… I won’t marry someone if I can’t show up as my best, most balanced self. So! That was then; my post was agonizing to write and really be honest about how peri was devastating my life – and now? Ladies, I made an appointment with Jessica Erlendson for a coaching session to deal with my rage, to communicate more effectively, and get into a state of self-awareness and compassion rather than react. With some sweet yoga moves and mindfulness exercises done daily as ‘homework’, I recommend you add Jessica to your Care Team, if you have one or need one. Her buoyant presence in our zoom sessions instills hope in my heart; hope that my life does not need to be this hard! And, do you know what? With all our work together and the support of a doctor (a woman) in getting me started on HRT (estrogen and progesterone pills daily), the results have been astounding! My boyfriend and I enjoy a new closeness after going through such a bumpy time, and I get to feel understood by someone who shares her own struggles during this enormous transition! The evil twin of myself still shows up, trust me – but doesn’t hijack my thinking for days and days on end. Thank you, Jessica Erlendson and the others in my sweet Care Team. When I say all of the components of this Team have saved my life, I truly mean it!
